The Honda Accord is a masterful take on the refined sedan experience. Amongst a sizable list of competitors, the Honda Accord stands out as the pinnacle of quality over quantity. Sometimes, there's no need to spend extra money on unnecessary features – sometimes, you seemingly pay for the brand name with some manufacturers – so why not save money and purchase a guaranteed winner? The 2024 Honda Accord is the very definition of practicality.

It has all the features that assist your daily commute to be ultimately more comfortable and delightful, along with qualities that allow this midsize sedan to be the irrefutable choice for the occasional out-of-state adventure thanks to incredible fuel efficiency. Almost fifty years since the Accord made its grand debut, the 2024 Accord is part of its ever-growing family. It arrives only one short year after a generational leap, so you can expect all the great additions from its predecessor to carry over.

The 2024 Accord springs into action with an MSRP of $27,895 for the LX trim.[a] Between the availability of powertrains, luxury features, and a list of trims to buy – the 2024 Accord always succeeds in the practical – but if you have the money to spring for more, the 2024 Accord EX starts at an MSRP of $29,910.[a]

Performance

Engine and Transmission

The 2024 Honda Accord keeps the powertrain situation simple. Your 2024 Honda Accord, whether that's the LX or EX model, will come with a turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine. Paired with this engine is a continuously variable transmission (CVT), which has quickly become a staple of the modern-day driving experience, especially for automotive manufacturers that have used turbocharged engines.

Although not every turbocharged powertrain on the market pairs with a CVT, the one in the 2024 Accord does, so you can expect acceleration that beats out anything you've ever driven regarding the smoothness of when you're gaining speed. Some people have likened the feeling of a CVT to the slick acceleration you feel if you were driving a go-kart – arguably, driving becomes more fun, and not to mention, your car will be quieter when traveling.

Horsepower, Torque, and Fuel Economy

With the turbocharged 1.5L I-4 engine, the 2024 Honda Accord pushes out 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. This makes the 2024 Honda Accord one of the most powerful midsize sedans on the market, and thanks to the turbocharged powertrain, it's also one of the most fuel-efficient sedans of the 2024 models. The 2024 Accord comes with front-wheel drive, so both the LX and EX output the same type of fuel efficiency. The EPA-estimated fuel ratings for the 2024 Accord are as follows: 29 MPG in the city, 37 MPG on the highway, and 32 MPG combined.[b]

Features

Connectivity

Starting with the base model – the Honda Accord LX – you get Honda's flagship safety suite, Honda Sensing, and you also have a 7-inch infotainment center and USB ports that serve two purposes: you can plug in a USB device for either charging or data transfer. For example, if you simply want to charge your smartphone, you can plug in the proper USB cable. You can also use your phone's connection to unlock the potential of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Accord EX also comes with power-adjustable heated seats, which is worth noting for everyone, whether you're a commuter or not.

Honda Sensing

Honda Sensing is one of the greatest parts of the Accord, from the EX onwards. Buying any 2024 Accord means you're getting a Road Departure Mitigation System and Lane Keeping Assist System with Traffic Jam Assist. You'll also have a sedan that can stop itself before various collisions because Honda Sensing comes with Honda's Collision Mitigation Braking System. Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow is also with each Accord, as well as Traffic Sign Recognition. Honda Sensing can be taken further by purchasing a higher-tier trim, which will add features like Blind Spot Information with Cross Traffic Monitor and Parking Sensors.

Interior

Cargo and Passenger Volume

The Accord is a refined sedan built on decades of experience. Honda knows how to do interiors, and the Accord has seen its fair share of interior rearrangements, features coming and going, and various headroom and legroom measurements. Still, the 2024 Honda Accord is a perfect combination of everything. The 2024 Accord has 16.7 cu.ft. of trunk space, making it one of the more cargo-capable midsize sedans on the market and one of the most passenger-friendly, with a passenger volume of 105.7 cu.ft. on the 2024 Accord LX, and 102.8 cu.ft. on each of the other trims.

Back Row Measurements

Sedans regularly don't switch up interior measurements too greatly between the front and back rows of seats. The 2024 Accord has 37.3 inches of headroom in the rear row, but any model that's not the LX has 37.2 inches. Legroom is identical across the trims for the rear row like it is for the first, with 40.8 inches of stretching room for rear-seat passengers' legs.
